I guess it’s time to give you a little “tour” of our home. A tour that will include our hopes and dreams for each area. J and I tend to have similar ideas of what we want to do with the house in general. But, I tend to have grandiose ideas for almost everything. J helps to bring me back to reality.

Alright, you ready?? Let’s start outside.

The front of the house. Some landscaping and we're good to go!

The backyard. We have 2.5 acres! A lot of landscaping is needed. A lot. I see a garden, some composting, a swing set, and lots of fun in the future!

The deck. We're planning to rip out the concrete below and create a patio off of the back door with a fire pit, pergola, and seating area.

Moving on to the inside…

The entry way. The room in the background will be a playroom. Eventually the hardwood will be dark and all of the trim will be white-ish.

View of the entry from the stairs...it's tall. I want to make it dramatic.

To the right of the front door. This beautiful (gag) purple room will eventually be our dining room. We will have picture frame wainscoting around the lower part and a dark teal on the walls. The lighting will match the entry way light. This room leads to the living room.

Living room built-ins. I have vague ideas about these...love them!

Living room windows- overlook the deck with a beautiful view!

Here's a quick view from our deck. I can't wait to purchase patio furniture!

The living room leads to an eat-in kitchen and three season porch.

The 3-season porch being measured by J. This room is on the bottom of our to-do list. I do have some ideas, though.

Here's a view of the living room from the kitchen.

View of the kitchen from the living room. Oh the kitchen...lots of work needed there.

This is the kitchen. We have new appliances coming, the floors will go dark (much later), cabinets will probably be light, granite counter tops (later), new hardware, new lights, new paint. Whew.

Up close of the cabinets. A new sink is in the works, too!

Pantry. Swoon. I cannot wait to fill this.

Behind the kitchen there’s a mud room, laundry room, half bath and three car garage. We’re planning to rip up the flooring back there and tile right away. The whole main level will get new carpet, except for the dining room, which will get hardwood to match the rest of the home.

Upstairs? Ok.

A view of the rooms from the master. Starting on the left moving clockwise: Office, E's room, nursery, full bath. New carpet upstairs, new paint, white trip, full bathroom remodel in the full bath, new light fixtures, closet organization systems, and window treatments.

This is the master bedroom. It has some neat ceilings which I will definitely make use of. The color will be a gray to match our new bedding. We're also going to get a new light fixture and some window treatments.

My favorite part of the master bath...what a tub! We're eventually going to tile the shower, change the cabinet colors, install granite counter tops, change light fixtures, etc. Basically a re-design.

And finally…the basement. This project will sit the longest as it’s last on our list. The highlight of the basement includes the “black room.” Black paint. No windows. What? Oh well.

Basement view 1. We'll probably paint the paneling white. The entertainment center goes on the far wall. The wet bar will be to the right.

Basement view two. It's nice to have a walk-out. I can't wait for the patio! Yes, we will repair the holes in the wall.

Well…that’s it! It’s a big home with a ton of potential and I can’t wait to dive in. Come along and join us for the journey…and if you’re in the area, grab a paint brush and come help!

Until next time.
